Maj. Gen. James Wilson Warr, II, 72, a lifelong resident of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 11:00AM at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home with Dr. John Ed Mathison officiating. Burial with full military honors will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Maj. Gen. Warr was a loyal and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He served his country during the Vietnam War and retired from the U.S. Army Reserves at the rank of Major General. He also worked with ADEM, and retired from there as Director. Maj. Gen. Warr was also a devoted member of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Alyce South. Maj. Gen. Warr is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Gwendolyn B. Warr; daughter, Cristin Morris (David); son, James W. Warr, III; grandchildren, Taylor, Lauren, Gwen Kathryn, Isaac and Isaiah; brother, Kenneth Warr (Becky); sister, Barbara Wyatt (Jerry); and numerous other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Montgomery Cancer Center in memory of Maj. Gen. James W. Warr, II.
