

James Terrell "Terry" Wofford who lived in Montgomery, AL passed away at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama on October 17, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on August 17, 1942, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Rev. Ben Wofford and Faye Terrell Wofford. He attended Fairview Methodist Church.
Terry graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in civil engineering. He also had a master's degree in Public Administration from AUM. He was an engineer with the Federal Highway Administration until his retirement.
Terry served his military career in the Engineering Branch of the United States Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He served in Operation Desert Storm and retired after 32 years of service.
Terry was married to the love of his life for 61years, his wife Cornealia O'Bar Wofford. Together they had the pleasure of visiting thirteen countries in Europe as well as living in Oregon, Denver, Washington D.C. area before moving to Alabama. He also had the opportunity to travel to Panama, Quebec and several countries in the Middle East.
Terry had a passion for rock concerts especially The Rolling Stones and The Grateful Dead. He enjoyed collecting vinyl records and CDs of many artists. One of his favorite concerts was seeing The Rolling Stones in the Superdome in New Orleans.
Terry belonged to many fraternal and veterans' organizations. He served on the Board of Governors of Shriner's Children's Hospital in Greenville, S.C. and is a Board Member Emeritus.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Cornealia O'Bar Wofford as well as several cousins.
