Jessie Lee Mills

Mills, Jessie Hatfield Mills, 86, passed away on July 31, 2013 in Virginia Beach, VA while living with her daughter. She was born in Selma, AL on March 19, 1927 to the late Lemmie Henry and Laurie Hatfield. Jessie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Rex Mills and grandson Daniel Williams. Survivors include a daughter, Rexanne Williams, wife of Karl C. Williams of Virginia Beach, VA. and son, Greg Mills, husband of Lilly Mills of Coconut Creek, FL. Jessie was known and loved very much as Nana to 10 grandchildren; Laurie Miller of Chesapeake, VA, Joseph Williams of Norfolk, VA, Melissa Lucas of Burke, VA, Michael Williams of Orem, Utah, Jennifer Anderson of Virginia Beach, VA, Amy Williams of Virginia Beach, Matt-hew Williams of Virginia Beach, VA, Sarah Mills of Coconut Creek, FL and Riley Mills of Coconut Creek, FL and the cherished Nana to 16 great-grandchildren. Jessie began living in Montgomery in 1947 after her marriage to Rex and lived there until 1998 when she moved to Bay Minette, AL. While living in Montgomery, Jessie always cherished her association with the mentally challenged children and adults. She worked tirelessly for 24 years at McInnis School from 1964-1988. She enjoyed being such a wonderful advocate for them and this association brought her many rewarding experiences in life. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted Tuesday at 2 pm at Leak Memory Chapel. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.LEAK-MC.com
