

Jimmie Louise Jacks Newell, of Pintlala, Alabama went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Friday January 2nd, 2015 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M. Newell. Survivors include her sons, Jack Newell (Mindy) and Lee Newell (Brenda). Grandchildren: Christopher Newell (Amber), Brian Newell (Laura), Trent Newell (Kelley), Kelli Kelly, Hal Newell (Chris), Casey Ray (Jarod), Christy Wilkins, Clint Ellis and 11 great grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters, Alda Ball, Sarah Hall and Lela Brown; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family would also like to recognize long-time friends Robert & Sherry Cumbie and all the employees of Newell Roadbuilders, Inc. Jimmie Louise was raised north of Huntsville in New Market Alabama. She graduated from college at Alabama Polytechnic Institute, known today as Auburn University. Jimmie Louise became a home economic agent and moved to Montgomery County where she met her future husband, Harold M. Newell. After their marriage in 1946, she supported him as he and co-founders built Newell Roadbuilders Inc. to be one of the largest highway construction firms in Alabama. Jimmy Louise was an advocate and volunteer in many organizations within her community and the Montgomery area. She was a volunteer Pink Lady at Baptist South Hospital for 37 years until October of 2005, served on the Pintlala Public Library Board, and was a long time member of Snowdoun United Methodist Church and supporter of Auburn University Athletics. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Leak Memory Chapel with visitation at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. A private graveside service will be held. Pallbearers serving will be Bruce Ball, Glen Brown, Kent Brown, Charles Hall, Johnny James, and Bobby Smith. The family extends a special thank you to all of her caregivers Mattie Thomas, Ashlie Koterba, Corine Larkin, Edna McCollough, & Rebecca James.Sincere gratitude is also extended to friends, extended family members, and Snowdoun United Methodist Church for their thoughtfulness and prayers.
