Joe Harmon Rodgers

Mr. Rodgers was born on November 23, 1925 in Crenshaw County, Alabama to Will Rodgers and Carlie Kimbrough.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Rodgers, his sister Sarah Rodgers, his brother Ray Rodgers (Martha), his brother Drew Rodgers (Annie) and his son Mark Rodgers (Joanne). Mr. Rodgers is survived by his sister Laurice Goodbread (Pete), his son Thomas Rodgers (Judith, deceased), his daughter Ann Haigler (Tim), his son Keith Rodgers (Teresa) and his son Bobby Rodgers (Laura), his stepdaughter Deborah Ellis (Robert), and stepson Ronnie Hinton (Linda). Mr. Rodgers had 15 grand-children and 8 great-grandchildren.

Joe Rodgers served his country in the United State Marine Corp in WWII in the South Pacific. Mr. Rodgers retired from the Montgomery Police Department. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved the Lord and loved teaching Sunday school at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama.

The funeral will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Monday, May 29th, 2017. Visitation for family: 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. General visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. and grave side service immediately following at nearby Greenwood Cemetery.
