He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Fannie Stokes; brothers, Virgle and Harold Stokes; and nephew, Chris Waller.
Joel is survived by his wife, Shelia Stokes, children, Leiser (Jamie) Sisk, Joey (Adam) Sowell, & Joshua (Stephanie) Stokes; grandchildren, Tanner Sisk, Maya Stokes, & Aiden Sowell; brother, Hansel Stokes; and dearly loved Nieces and Nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, July 21 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Leak Memory Chapel. The Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, July 22 at 10:00a.m. at St Luke United Methodist in Montgomery, AL with Rev. Linda Tarver officiating. Please dress casually, per the family’s request. A burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers to include: Jerry Stokes, Mike Stokes, Allen Stokes, Richard Stokes, Rex Stokes, & Clint David.
