

Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie S. Collier Sr. and Ruby Mason Collier; sister, Demarias Ann Bowles; brother, Marvin F. Collier; daughter, Kim Collier Dowe; granddaughter, Collier Ann Byers; as well as his high school sweetheart and first wife of 43 years, Olivia McKim Collier. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Smith Collier; daughters, Lisa Collier Tyler and Deanna Collier Calzarette (Al); granddaughters, Morgan Tyler Heinzelman (Doug), Madison Ann Tyler, Olivia Grace McLaughlin, and Falon Dowe Hooks (Dustin); grandson, Mason Conner McLaughlin; Seven great grandchildren, Owen, Lottie, Nova, Angelica, Sophia, Ollie, and Rhett; sisters, Betty Kirby, Deanna Rucker (Ralph), and Linda Yarbrough (Jimmy); nephew, Brannan Rucker; as well as many nieces and two very special son in laws, Tim Tyler and Jamie Dowe.
Johnnie was a man of faith, family, and country. He was a member of Morningview Baptist Church for 45 years, where he proudly served as a Deacon, taught Sunday School, served as a choir member, as well as performing many mission trips. It was through his time here that he met a very special group of men who became family to him, Charles Bailey, George Kelley, Ellis Edwards, and Barry Moseley. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1956 and was First Chair trumpet player under Dr. Johnny Long. He went on to serve our country in the Navy. When he returned home he worked for Wes Parker Heating and Air for several years. He then started his own business, Johnnie Collier Heating and Air. Johnnie worked these two jobs for over 30 years.
A Visitation for Johnnie will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm PM. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with pastors Doug Chapell and Anthony Counts officiating at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. A graveside service will then be held at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109.
Pallbearers for Johnnie's services will be Brannan Rucker, Tim Tyler, Brian Celka, Todd Stephens, Cory Stephens, and Jamie Dowe.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
