Larry Long

He was a loving and devoted husband of 41 years and is survived by his adoring wife, Judy James Long. He was loving and encouraging father and is survived by his three children, Jennifer James Long of Wetumpka, Rebecca Long (Adam) Stuart of Montgomery and Kimberly Ann Long of Wetumpka. He was a doting grandfather and is survived by three grandchildren, Christopher Gene Long, Ava James Stuart and Cullen Marks Stuart. He is survived by his sister Carolyn (Bill) Morris and her children Dee (Mike) Kennedy and William Morris. He loved and was eternally dedicated to his family.

Mr. Long was a loyal employee of Tractor & Equipment Company. After 42 years of employment, he retired as Parts Manager. He was a Sargent in the Army National Guard with the 1133rd Med Company Air Ambulance Medi-Vac Unit. During his 25 years of service he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Expert Badge and Air Craft Crewman Badge. His character of service was honorable.

He was a longtime member of Saint James United Methodist Church and Frazer Sunday School Class.

Pallbearers will be Leroy Cook, Jim Williford, Rick Bodiford, Gene Bass, John Shumway and William Morris.

His family will receive family and friends from 1:30 until 3:00pm on Saturday, July 7 at Leak Memory Funeral Home and a chapel service will be held immediately following visitation.

In lieu of flowers the family desires that memorial contributions to be made to Saint James United Methodist Church or the Wounded Warrior Project.
