Larry Wayne McInnis born May 23, 1948 lived in Decatur, GA. Larry died March 2, 2016 at the Hospice Atlanta Center after a courageous struggle with cancer for almost three years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Andress McInnis.
Larry is survived by his loving companion and dearest friend, Joyce Forest, and by his father, Henry G. McInnis, Jr. He is also survived by his cousins: Tony Andress, Darrel Andress, Sandra Shoemaker, Greg Andress and June Nelson as well as many loving, caring friends.
Larry was a graduate of Auburn High School and of Auburn University earning undergraduate and graduate degrees.
He worked with the Social Security Disability Program as a Quality Assurance Examiner in Decatur, GA for many years until his retirement. He was a lover of animals and supported/contributed to his local animal shelter.
Larry was a loving, caring, humble person who accepted Jesus when he was a young boy while attending a RA Camp. We will celebrate his life with a graveside service at Greenwood Serenity, 909 Lincoln Road in Montgomery, AL on Monday, March 7 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm in the chapel of White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Dr. Rick Marshall and Rev. Larry Armstrong.
