Born on October 5, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Guy Hubert Bailey, Sr., and Daisy Rawlins Bailey. Also preceding her in death was her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, William Jackson Kelly; loving son, William Carey Kelly, brothers; Guy Hubert Bailey, Jr., James Lawton “Sport” Bailey, Franklin T. Bailey, Eugene Thomas Bailey, Walter Phillip “Pete” Bailey; and sister, Dorothy Ann Harris. She is survived by her sons, Lance (Joan) Kelly of Ramer, AL, Russell (Barbara) Kelly of Wetumpka, AL; 4 grandchildren, Amber Espy (Craig), of Abbeville, AL, Peyton Kelly (Kayla) of Prattville, AL, Nathan Kelly (Katie) of Birmingham, AL, Marshall Kelly of Birmingham, AL; 2 step-grandchildren, Robin Carter (Brannon) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Logan Lockett (Abril) of Slidell, Louisiana; 8 great-grandchildren, Joshua & Mason Espy, Hannah Faith, Elizabeth, Jack, & Bailey Kelly, Lincoln, & Eleanor Lockett; Sisters-in-law, Dot Bailey, Judy Bailey and Mary Bailey; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Lois faithfully served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as a member of Chisholm Baptist Church for over 70 years. She was a long-time resident of Montgomery, Alabama and also spent several years on the family farm in Cochran, Georgia during the Great Depression. Upon returning to Montgomery, she graduated from Sidney Lanier High School. She worked many years at May and Greens Sporting Goods until its closure and then worked for the Montgomery Industrial Development Board where she retired. She always enjoyed time with her family and being a part of their lives. Lois will be dearly missed by them and her friends abiding forever in their hearts.
Services will be held at Leak Memory on Monday, February 3, 2025 with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by her celebration of life service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Edmonds officiating.
Pallbearers for Lois's services are Nathan Kelly, Marshall Kelly, Peyton Kelly, Craig Espy, Joshua Espy, and Mason Espy. Honorary Pallbearers are Guy Bailey, Steve Bailey, Mike Bailey, Phillip Bailey, Mickey Harris, and Jeff Harris.
