McDOWELL, Lorraine Catherine Borscha, 95, a resident of Montgomery, AL since 1941, died Friday, February 22, 2013. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bede’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 10 a.m., with Rev. David Carucci officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Born in Chicago, IL she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Sable Charles McDowell and her parents Charles and Sophie Borscha of Chicago, IL; brother Richard J. Borscha, sisters Virginia Margaret Grimes and Barbara Helen GaMache. Survivors include a brother Charles D. Borscha of Des Plains, IL, sister-in-law Julia Baker McDowell, sons William C. (Elizabeth) McDowell of Cumming, GA, James S. (Linda) McDowell of Smyrna, GA, John T. (Celeste) McDowell of Montgomery, AL and daughter Mary Anne McDowell of Montgomery, AL. Six Grandchildren Charles L. (Heidi) McDowell of Marietta, GA, Suzanne M. (Shon) Geddes of Cumming, GA, Pamela M. (James) Sherlock of Cumming, GA, Wendy M. (Dan) Waytena of Lexington, Ga., Thomas Ashley (Mary) Thaggard of San Diego, CA and Tabitha T. (William) Hickman of Wetumpka, AL; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Jim Sherlock, Will Sherlock, Will Hickman, Chuck McDowell, Connor McDowell and Tommy Thaggard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas Ashley Thaggard, Shon Geddes and Dan Waytena. Visitation will be in the Parish Hall at St. Bede’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 6:30 p.m. in the church. Mrs. McDowell was a member of St. Bede’s Catholic Church for 40 years. She was a member of the choir, St. Ann’s Altar Circle, St. Theresa Altar Society and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
