

Lou Dell Bragg, age 87, of Prattville, AL, was called to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 27, 2025. Mrs. Bragg was born in Enterprise, Alabama, before relocating to Montgomery and later, her home in Prattville, Alabama. She was married to her beloved husband, Davis Bragg, for 58 years. She devoted her time to being a caregiver to her parents, family, grandchildren, and friends. She used her gift of caring to volunteer at Baptist South Hospital for over 20 years and later became Day Chairman. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the UTU Railroad. She was a longtime member of Boones Chapel Church and was a devoted Christian. She was often sought after for help and was renowned for her wise advice. She instilled her value of faith into her family and friends. She had a talent for creating lasting memories, whether through her treasured embroidery gifts or her famous tea cakes that graced every celebration. She always told her family she loved them “a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.” To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was affectionately known as “Mamo.” She will be missed dearly by her family and friends and will be waiting to see them again.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Davis “Buddy” Bragg; daughter, Teresa Bragg Pettus; mother, Mattie Lee Maddox; and father, Joseph Clark Maddox. Survivors include her children, Stanley Davis Bragg (Ann), Kimi Bragg Brasington (Ed); son-inlaw, Keith Pettus; grandchildren, Lauren Pettus Harrell (Trey), Ashley Bragg Sellers (Jay), William Bragg, Jordan Pettus Schroeder (Chad), Alyssa Bragg Sweet (Brendan), EJ Brasington (Whitney), Austen Bragg, Abby Brasington; great-grandchildren, Chambless Harrell, Zeke Harrell, Maddox Harrell, Hadley Sellers, Davis Schroeder, Graeme Sellers, Pete Schroeder, Lily Sellers, Evelyn Sweet; her sister, Janie Lee; and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be EJ Brasington, William Bragg, Austen Bragg, Trey Harrell, Chad Schroeder, Brandon Reid, and Zeke Harrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Sellers, Brendan Sweet, and her great-grandsons, Pete Schroeder and Graeme Sellers. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Cathy for the loving care she provided.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Leak Memory Chapel with Reverend Rodney Culpepper and Reverend Matt Hall officiating, followed by a graveside service at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, prior to the funeral. Leak Memory Chapel is directing.
