Compton, Margaret Mason, 92, a native of Union Springs, and longtime resident of Montgomery, AL, died Saturday, October 28, 2023. Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Compton, and her sister, Mildred Mason Boutwell; survivors include her daughters Caroline Compton Carr and Margaret Leah Compton; her son, Robert E. “Bob” Compton (Marissa); her grandchildren Mason "Maci" Cook Reynolds (Kevin) and Rebecca “Becca” Elizabeth Petty (Hayden Brooks); as well as great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
A graveside service will be in Greenwood Cemetery, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109 at 2:00 PM, November 1, 2023. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. Rev. Neil Epler officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made to Forest Avenue Magnet School or The Alzheimer’s Foundation in her name.
