As the Director of Our Lady Queen of Mercy Daycare, Maria nurtured countless children, instilling in them a love of learning and compassion. Her commitment to children was unwavering, even after the daycare closed. Maria was also deeply involved in her faith, attending St. Peter's Catholic Church in downtown Montgomery for many years, where she found a strong community and lifelong friends.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents and her sister. She is survived by her loving daughter, Elizabeth M. McEntyre, who carries on her mother’s legacy of kindness and generosity.
Maria’s warmth and spirit will be missed by all who knew her. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 31st at 2:00 pm at St. Peter's Catholic Church, followed by the Rite of Committal at Greenwood Cemetery. Family and friends are then invited to Leak Memory to celebrate her life and contributions to the community. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities in her memory.
