Mary Bruce Killingsworth, a lifelong resident of Montgomery, AL, passed away peacefully in Fairhope, AL, surrounded by family. She was born in Kentucky on March 16, 1936 to the late William Birch and Maxine Birch. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Killingsworth, brother Eugene Birch and a sister Jill Birch.
Mary Bruce was a loving, patient, and kind mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother, and known by all as “Mawmaw”. She spent her life serving God through loving people. She graduated from Sidney Lanier in 1955 and worked as Secretary at Capitol Heights Junior High School and also worked faithfully at The Children’s Center Adult Program. She was a member of Capitol Heights Baptist Church and spent the last years of her life in Fairhope and Daphne, AL with son’s and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons Richard (Cindy) Cox and Tim (Tammy) Cox; sister, Becky (Gary) Mullins; grandchildren, Gabe (Jessica) Cox, Lauren (Matthew) Norman, Olivia (Dalyn) Tolbert, Zack Cox and Garrett Cox; niece Jill (David) Hedges.
A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2020, with her grandson Gabe Cox officiating. Pallbearers include: Matthew Norman, Dalyn Tolbert, Gary Mullins, Zack Cox, Garrett Cox, and David Hedges. Brian Gulledge will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
