
Lindsey, Mary Donnave Brennan”Donnie”, age 92, passed away August 12, 2012. She was born Nov. 23, 1919 in Columbus, Georgia. She attended the University of Alabama and then obtained a degree in art from Auburn University. She was twice married and twice widowed, to Clifford Taylor and John Lindsey. She worked for many years as a professional advertising artist at W.T. Grant’s department store in New York City. After she and her first husband retired to Montgomery, she became one of the founders and an early president of Sac’s Gallery and was prominent in the Montgomery art scene. Mrs. Lindsey was preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Brennan and Kathleen Brennan Roush, a brother, William Brennan. She is survived by two brothers, Cyril G. (Louise) Brennan of Montgomery and Dan M. (Clara) Brennan of Birmingham; a step-daughter, Elizabeth Rice of St. Augustine, Florida; 19 nieces and nephews and a host of grand-nieces and nephews. She was an animal lover and had many cats and dogs. There will be a visitation held at Leak Memory Chapel on Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, followed by graveside services in Greenwood Cemetery.
