Mary Ruth Powell

Powell, Mary Ruth 90, a longtime resident of Montgomery died peacefully at home October 12,2025 after an illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Donald Powell and her parents Emory Odell Baker and Douglas Hood Baker.

She is survived by her son, Terry Powell (Debra), and daughters Donna Williamson and Renee Powell, grandsons Ronald Williamson (Angie), Donald Williamson, Michael Williamson, Cody Powell, granddaughters Kristin Scanlon (Zac) and Katelyn Davis (Gene).

Mary Ruth was born in Notasulga, Alabama on July 27,1935. She graduated from Elmore County High School. She was a member of Eastmont Baptist Church. She was employed by Winn Dixie for 50 years as a cashier and floral manager. Mary Ruth was a wonderful, patient wife, mother, and grandmother. Her bright eyes and sweet smile will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Leak Memory Funeral Home on Thursday October 16,2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Frank Bolling officiating.

Burial will follow in Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be held at Leak Memory on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
