

He is reunited with his beloved wife Elizabeth Shefelton Marlette, parents Maurice Marlette Sr. and Nannie McWhorter Marlette, many other family members and wonderful friends.
He was born and raised in Hayneville, Alabama and had several different degrees in History, Social work, and Education. He was called by the Presbyterian church to be a teacher on the mission field in the Congo of Africa. His other work contributions include Lowndes County Department of Education and Alabama Department of Human Resources from which he retired. Travel was one of his great passions and he was able to explore many countries in his life. He leaves behind his three children William Marlette(Audrey), Margaret Marlette Henderson and Nancy Marlette Simmons( Ken), Grandchildren Sara Charles Kreder (Jon), Reid Cleveland, Tarver Marlette, Kyle Simmons (Chelsea), Marshall Simmons, and Rosemary Lazarowecz, Great grandchildren Parker, Eli, and MacKenzie Kreder, Lily Marlette, and Charlotte Simmons. Funeral services will be Friday, March 10, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Hayneville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lincoln Speece and Rev. Rhon Carleton officiating. Burial will follow in Hayneville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Hayneville Presbyterian Church memorial fund.
