

Melinda Lea Farler Jackson, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at the age of 53. She was surrounded by her loving family to whom she had given so much of herself.
Born in Austin, Texas on June 6, 1962, she was adopted at birth by Morris Glenn Farler and Mary Turner Farler. Both of her beloved parents preceded her in death. In the summer of 1979, she met and won the heart of the man who would cherish her for the remainder of her days and on April 3, 1981, she exchanged wedding vows with Steve W. Jackson whom she leaves behind to cherish and carry on her memory. She is also survived by son and daughter in law, Jeremy Jackson (Cassandra); daughter, Kathryn Marie Jackson; two beautiful granddaughters, Alexis Jordan Jackson and Claire Elizabeth Wohlford; sister and brother in law, Mora Farler O’Banion (John); three nieces, one nephew and an uncountable number of other people whose lives she impacted in so many ways with her incredible generosity of spirit and her giving nature.
Mrs. Melinda Lea Farler Jackson’s family will greet friends and relatives at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at White Chapel Funeral Home in Montgomery, Alabama. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery upon the conclusion of Memorial Services at White Chapel Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Lea’s memory be honored by making a donation to the Montgomery Humane Shelter, 1150 John Overton Drive in Montgomery, Alabama, adopting a pet or some other contribution in her honor.
