
Nicholas "Nick" George Kamburis, age 83, of Montgomery, Alabama, died Sunday, September 16, 2012, at 5:30 a.m. in his home. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in Montgomery followed by a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery. Services will be officiated by Father Ioannis Vernikos. Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery from 5 to 7 p.m on Tuesday, September 18, with a Trisagion Service beginning at 7 p.m.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kate and George Kamburis and his brothers, John and Mickey Kamburis.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anne Kamburis; his son George "Yogi" Kamburis and his wife, Margie Kamburis, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; his daughter, Kathy Kamburis Watson and her husband, Robert "Montie" Watson of Acworth, Georgia; his five grandchildren - Kristina, Alexandra, Morgan, Chandler and Alexis; and his sister, Mary Kamburis Griggs of Montgomery, Alabama.
Mr. Kamburis was a veteran of the Korean War in the United States Army and served 32 years with the United States Postal Service. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 1721 Mount Meigs Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36107 or to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35404.
