Reece Henry Brooks

Reece Henry Brooks, age 86, of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016. Mr. Brooks was a longtime member of Hunter Station Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School classes and served as a deacon. Mr. Brooks retired from Colonial Baking Company after 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by a child, Reece Eugene Brooks; his parents, Robert Lee and Luttie Brooks; and five siblings, Mary Chapman, Fred Brooks, Monroe Brooks, Hubert Brooks, and Maxon Brooks. Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann Carter Brooks; his children, Debbie (Glenn) Baxley, Reece Michael (Mary Ann) Brooks; grandchildren, David (Allison) Baxley, Brian (Meaghan) Baxley, Joshua Brooks, Malorie (Jay) Gray; great-grandchildren, Brooks Baxley, Barrett Baxley, Bennett Baxley, Brantley Gray, Lauren Gray; his brother Guthrie (Carol) Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Leak Memory Chapel with Reverend Jim Whorton officiating followed by the burial at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery. The family will begin to accept friends at 11:00 AM, prior to the service. Leak Memory Chapel is directing. Pallbearers will be Josh Brooks, David Baxley, Brian Baxley, Jay Gray, Joey Alford, and Mark Alford.
