Roland Buffington was a supporter of ARSEA/APEAL and always showed up for our events, quietly being the one who was there with a friendly hand and a smile.  

I will never forget his stories about going to India.  He was usually the one who could give fellow members an update on anything new that was going on with the ASECU.  We were happy to see him at our meetings and activities for retired public employees.  

My thoughts & prayers are with Roland’s family & friends. I met him while working at ASECU. He was always a delight to see & talk to when he stopped by for a visit. I enjoyed hearing about his latest Mission Trips. 
He was a Godly man & will be missed. Our loss is Heaven’s gain!
RIP, Roland. 

Mr Buffington always came by the branch with a smile and showed that he cared. He will be missed! 

As employee of ASECU I remember Roland coming by to  check on us at the office, always asking how we are all doing very personal person   always  interested in us. I have known Roland every since  he became a Board Member, I believe he was on the Loan  Committee first, back in the 90's. He will be miss. Express my Sympathy to his family.

I was so sorry to hear of Rolands passing. He worked with my grandfather and I met him working at the credit union. He ALWAYS came in with a smile and a new story.   He will be truly missed. Sending my thoughts and prayers to his family. 

     I served with Roland on the Alabama State Employees Credit Union for numerous
years and never met a more dedicated and committed individual to the Board of Directors, staff, and members.  He served well for many years as President of the Board of Directors and always supported the staff and had a sincere feeling for the members.

    On behalf of all past and present members of the Board of Directors and the staff of
the ASECU, we express our sympathy to Roland's family.   You all are in our prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and anyone grieving for Mr. Buffington   Our deepest sympathy as we know he will be truly missed. Heaven has opened it’s gates to a wonderful man. 

So sorry to hear of Mr. Roland’s passing. Heaven has gained a good one for sure. He was always so kind to me when I worked for the credit union. Thoughts & prayers for his family! 

It was an honor to know you sir. You helped us stupid kids figure out who we were. You gave us great meals and a warm place to sleep when we were out being knuckle heads.  Thank you for all you did. 

I enjoyed serving with Roland on the ASE Credit Union Board for many years.  Roland loved ASE Credit Union and serving the members.  He had a vast knowledge of the financial world and was a great asset to the Credit Union.  I always enjoyed serving on Committees with him because he always had so much to offer.  In addition, I know that Roland had a heart of gold and loved the Lord, serving Him in his everyday life!  May the Lord bless and keep you always, Roland!  You will be missed!

To Roland’s Family, you are in our thoughts and prayers. I served with Roland at ASE Credit Union for 26 years. He was totally committed to the Credit Union concept of people helping people. His approximately 30 years voluntarily service to ASECU is to be commended. He was a very intelligent man with new ideas and always attempted to do the right thing.  He will be missed.

While ministering with the Capitol Heights Church of Christ we became acquainted with this dear, sweet man! He became a very special friend to our family! 
Only eternity will tell how much good he has done through his love of mission work and everday Christian living
Heaven has gained a precious soul! 

I will really miss Buff. He was my late husband's grandfather (in every way but blood) and actually the first member of his family that I ever met. He always so kind and generous. He even let us stay with him for months so I could save up for our wedding. I could never repay his kindness. I loved him like my own grandfather and I really hope he is happy with all the others now. 

I worked at ala state employees c u, and he always came in with his beautiful smile and always asked how us tellers were, loved it when he would come in to see us!, so sorry for your loss,  GOD BLESS HIM AND YOUR FAMILY!

Buff was known  to  my son as grandfather.  He was Ronnie  Ott  jr. We called  him  family.  He was the most caring  and  loving  person  we knew. I know he is where  he  wanted  to  be.  With all that went before.  He will be missed  greatly.  He is with his daughter  who he missed  so much. Love  and miss  you  Buff. RIP.

I’ve never known anyone like my Grandad. He loves taking care of others. He was a great man who loved the Lord, loved his Church, and loved his friends and family. He will be so missed but has moved on to his mansion over the hilltop.

Roland was one of the most generous people that I have ever met.  During the last weeks of my Father’s life,  Roland Made trips to Sam’s Club and other places looking for anything that he thought we could use, as we cared for Dad at home.  Food, flowers, paper products, or just a smile and words of love and encouragement.  He loved Jesus, and tried to bring as many to him as possible.  This world has lost a fine man whose love and generosity will be greatly missed
