
Sara Evelyn “Lynn” Dick Carr, 94, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, in Montgomery, Alabama surrounded by her daughters and granddaughters. Lynn retired after 38 years of service to the State of Alabama. She was employed by the Department of Agriculture at the time of her retirement. After retirement, she volunteered at Baptist Hospital for several years. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends. She most enjoyed time with her family.
Lynn was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Edgar "Ed" Emmett Carr; her parents, Claburn and Aleta Dick; her brothers, Edwin, Graves, C.P, and James Dick; and her sister, Lillian Warner.
Lynn is survived by her daughter, Sandra "Sandy" Lynn Carr Perillard; her son, Raymond Edgar "Eddie" Carr; daughter, Helen Elizabeth "Beth" Carr Joyave; 3 grandchildren, Tyler Carr (Matt Maier), Dr. John Daniel Joyave (Syd), and Jenna Joyave Culberson (Casey); great grandchildren, Blake Carr, Madeline Joyave, and Emmett Arnold Culberson coming in March 2021; as well as a sister, Barbara Dick Norman.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 7, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Leak Memory Chapel (masks are required). A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery.
Special acknowledgement to Anne Sykes Adams who became friends with Lynn in the 11th grade at Sidney Lanier High School. They started out as friends and became family. Also, Allie Stewart a caretaker and companion who also became family. The family is thankful for the care and service of Amedisys Hospice.
