

After a long and blessed life, Sarah Frances Folmar Green went peacefully home to be with Jesus on April 1, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, and will be missed but cherished forever. She was born in Troy, Alabama and after earning her degree from Troy State University moved to Montgomery, Alabama where she taught elementary school for 30 years; for the majority of that time, she served her “cherished 2nd and 3rd grade angels” at Flowers Elementary. She was a charter member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for over 50 years. Her generosity, love, and caring spirit touched everyone she encountered. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, teaching, and spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Christopher Mack Green; her daughters, Bonnie and her husband James Fenoy, Lucy and her husband David Smith; grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Allyson and her husband Tyler Dutton; six great grandchildren, Deonte, Tanner, Brooklyn, Nelson, Luke, Chance; sister Rosalyn Folmar Causey; as well as her many special nieces and nephews.
Preceding her into the life after: Parents, JR Folmar and Willie Price Folmar; brothers, Willie Joe “Brother” Folmar, John Elliot Folmar, David Folmar; sisters, Sybil “Sister” Folmar Sanders, Betty Folmar Nations.
Services will be Saturday, April 12 at the Leak Memorial Chapel in Montgomery. Visitation from 10-11:00 am and Celebration of Life at 11:00 am with graveside immediately following at Greenwood Cemetery.
