Sharron (Sherry) Lea Calvert Nath, of Alabama, formerly of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025. Born on October 30, 1943, in Louisville, she was the beloved daughter of the late Bernie Calvert and Luverne Braun Calvert, and sister of the late Barbara Calvert Youngs.
Sherry shared a devoted and joyful marriage with her husband, Dr. Charles (Chuck) J. Nath III, for 56 years. Together, they navigated a life of service as a proud military family from 1969 to 1993, during which Sharron served as President of the Officers’ Wives Club, supporting families and building lifelong friendships.
Sherry began her nursing career as an LPN at St. Margaret’s Hospital, later earning her RN degree from Troy State University. Her nursing career took her many places, including serving as a nurse at the American Embassy in Lima, Peru, a role she cherished deeply. She also shared her compassionate spirit and medical expertise through her work with the State of Alabama Department of Public Health.
A woman of deep faith, Sherry was a devoted member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where she found spiritual strength, fellowship, and lifelong friendships.
She dedicated countless hours as a volunteer with the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society, where she played a key role in numerous Relay for Life events and Dancing with the Celebrities fundraisers, raising thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Montgomery Area Food Bank, furthering her passion for ensuring families in need had access to essential resources. Her generosity, leadership, and willingness to serve left a lasting mark on her community.
Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Chuck Nath, her beloved daughters, Michelle Morris and Danielle Lazenby, and her cherished granddaughter, Morgan Lazenby. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Charlie Morris (2015) and son-in-law Kevin Lazenby (2024).
Sherry will be remembered for her warm heart, steadfast faith, dedication to others, and the deep love she held for her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sherry’s memory to the Heart of Alabama Food Bank, an organization that reflects her lifelong commitment to helping those in need.
