Shirley Marie Evelan, age 86, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Shirley was born September 29, 1935 to William MacMillan and Marie Patton MacMillan in Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 63 years, Gerald S. Evelan. She is survived by her four daughters, Kathryn (Kevin) Bowdoin, Susan (Kim) Hammon, Cynthia (Chuck) Metzing, and Jennifer (Victor) Maluda, as well as 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A military wife, she always supported her family and made every house a home no matter where the Air Force sent them. An avid bowler, seamstress, crocheter, and member of Frazer Methodist church, Shirley impacted many in her community with her volunteer work with medical outreach, Meals on Wheels and various veterans organizations. She loved singing in the choir and helping in the nursery at Frazer.
A celebration of life memorial service for Shirley will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Frazer United Methodist Church, 6000 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Alabama 36117.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to Montgomery Area Food Bank, www.montgomeryareafoodbank.org; and St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
