Walter Holice Gainey

A lifelong resident of Montgomery, AL, he owned and operated a floor-covering business for years from his beginnings in the industry working with Sealy & Jehle Tile Company. He then went into the real estate industry as a Realtor, and finally retired as a Cattleman in, Mathews, AL. He was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church in Pike Road, AL.

Mr. Gainey was preceded in death by his father, Jasper A. Gainey; his mother, Athie E. Luedtke; as well as both sisters, Aline Ryder and Ethel Neese.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alma Baker Gainey; his son, Wes (Sharon) Gainey; Grandchildren – Cary Gainey, Justin (Amy) Gainey, Meagan (Justin) Blackwood and Jared (Jessica) Osbourn; Great-Grandchildren – Matthew Gainey, Beau Gainey, Wyatt Blackwood and Lennix Osbourn.

Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Tuesday, July 19th, from 11:00 to 12:00; with procession to graveside services in Greenwood Cemetery immediately following.
