Wendy Ann Brooke, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on October 19, 2025. Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, she spent her formative years in Columbia, Missouri.
In death she joined her siblings, Clement Brooke III, Alison (Brooke) Bunte and Geoffrey Brooke Sr., alongside her parents Clement Brooke II MD, and Emily (Davis) Brooke.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews Geoffrey Brooke Jr., Claudia (Brooke) Miller, Alex Bunte, Emily Brooke and Craig Bunte and great nephew Harrison Miller and great niece Brooke Miller.
Her nieces and nephews were one of her life’s greatest gifts. She was the aunt to whom all went for wise counsel, a good laugh and sometimes ways to best get around her siblings. Her in laws, Mary Nell Brooke, Clyde Bunte, and Antoinette Brooke completed her small and close-knit family. Together they shared many of life’s joys- travel, games, and an occasional warbled tune. Her feline companions, Ebenezer, Ernesto, and most recently, Hepzibah were her faithful friends throughout her life.
Wendy was always ready for an adventure, and never hesitated to explore new places, forming deep friendships in each of the seventeen places she lived, worked or pursued her interests across the globe. You could find her on annual visits to archaeological sites around the US and UK, and always on the sideline of a UW-Platteville basketball game. A passionate college basketball fan at her core, she was one of the team’s most loyal fans and even served as an advisor and mentor to many players.
Never one to sit still; Wendy was always working on a new project. She optimized her career as a supply chain and operations officer, and consultant. Her expertise in manufacturing reached across borders to Canada, Latin and South America, Asia, and Australia. She ended her career doing what she loved and following a family path: sharing knowledge as an educator at UW-Platteville.
Wherever the woman called Wendy went she was beloved, finding and creating community. She truly valued all the people in her life from business to basketball to her clubs and teams. She will be both missed and remembered for teaching everyone she encountered how to stay open to life's next adventure and finding joy with every which way the winds of life may blow...
The family will hold private memorial services at a future date. In lieu of flowers, Wendy’s family requests donations to be sent to the University of Platteville Men’s basketball team.
