He was preceded in death by his son, Jared Straughn; brother, John Straughn; mother, Daisy Kate Straughn; and father, James B. Straughn.
He is survived by his friend, Jill Parker; daughter-in-law, Jessica Straughn; granddaughter, Mia Straughn; grandson, Julian Straughn; sister, Linda Spencer of Franklin, KY; and brother James Straughn of Franklin, KY.
A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Cubahatchee Baptist Church Cemetery in Shorter, AL.
