Hanson, Anne Catherine (Arab)
It is with great sadness that the family announces
the death of Anne Hanson on April 14th 2014
at the age of 97. Formally of Halifax, Nova Scotia,
she lived in Montreal for the past 45 years.
Predeceased by her husband Raymond,
son Raymond Jr (Bucky), grandson Justin Bokor
and her brother Arthur Arab of Halifax.
She will be dearly missed by her children Sandra Hunter,
Alana Hanson-Fava (Franco Fava), Christopher Hanson,
Maurina Bokor and Louisa Belanger (Joey Belanger),
12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Anne lived an interesting and varied life as secretary to
the Admiral of the Navy, legal secretary to her deceased
brother Edward Arab and medical secretary at
the Montreal General Hospital, Shriners Hospital
and the Ready Memorial Hospital.
Using her research talents, love of reading and
acquiring knowledge, Anne ‘played detective’ and
succeeded in reuniting a mother and son after 35 years apart.
Anne helped out at her beloved St-Monica’s Parish
where she attended mass every day and played bridge.
She was also an active volunteer at the War Veterans association,
Meals on Wheels and Benny Farm where she aided seniors and
veterans with their income tax preparations.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude towards
the staff of St-Andrews Presbyterian Home and especially
Mrs. Enid Massop for taking such wonderful care of their mother.
Donations to St-Andrews Presbyterian Home Foundation
would be greatly appreciated.
A private service will be held at a later date.
