Our remarkable and amazing MOM passed away quietly and peacefully on Monday December 5th, 2011 at the Jewish General Hospital, at the age of 91. Her uncompromising will and dogged determination saw her through a long and feisty battle with Parkinson's disease. Beloved wife of the late Henry, she is survived by her sons Gordon and Douglas.
Born in Vancouver and the eldest sister to the late Dick, Mary, the late John, the late Susan, Kate, the late Leonard and Byng, she was the second Mom to many of her adored nieces and nephews. Always remembered as a kind, caring, gentle and generous person, her warmth and love were unequivocally extended to all. In her 20 years as a teacher at the Little Red Playhouse, she delighted in seeing her little toddlers become parents. As our Mom, she was simply quite a remarkable person and an amazing Mother. She will be cherished in our memories forever.
We are eternally grateful to Shirley Williams who supported and cared for our Mom during the last year and a half. Through their genuine friendship and inseparable bond Mom was able to enjoy the finest quality of life.
Family will receive condolences at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, on Monday, December 12, at 11:30 am followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson's Society of Quebec would be greatly appreciated.
