Daisy Barnes

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daisy Barnes, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

Born in Barbados, Daisy moved to Canada in the 1960s and built a life in Montreal alongside her sisters Lorna and Audrie, and her brother Austin.

She leaves behind cherished children, Peter (Sophie) and Julie , who will forever carry her warmth in their hearts. She is also survived by her dear brother Austin and his wife Angela, whose closeness and support meant so much to her throughout her life.

Daisy’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched with her kindness and empathy. Her family extends eternal and heartfelt thanks to the staff of CHSLD Alfred-Desrochers, who cared for Daisy with tireless dedication over the past five years, and to Sue Bencsics for her faithful companionship, which brought great comfort and joy to Daisy.

A celebration of life will be held for family and close friends on Thursday, November 27, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525 ch. de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal, QC, to honor her memory and the lasting impact she leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in her name; Parkinson Canada is especially suggested.

Though she is gone from our sight, her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved her.
