Dennis drove Susanne and me several years ago from Toronto  to Niagara Falls. It was the only time  I met him, but he made a great impression on me, and I have often thought of him since then.  He was so calm and kind. It is easy to know that he has left a huge void in so many people's lives.  I hope that his wife and daughter can find some strength in knowing what a good impression he made on people. 

Heartfelt condolences to the whole family and extended circle of friendship. Dennis was a lovely colleague to work with over the years. And while our paths did not cross often, he was a person of great kindness and a genuinely gifted professor.   

I know that he enriched the academic journey of countless JMSB students, and that he was held in great esteem by his colleagues, most notable Mahesh.

My sincere condolences to the Kira family. I have known Dennis for many years and worked with him when he was a department chair. Whenever we had an administrative issue to be resolved, he was always calm, collected and accommodating. I don't recall seeing him angry or upset with anyone. He did his best to help those who needed assistance. His friends and colleagues will surely miss him. May his soul rest in peace.

Very sad to hear the news. Dr. Kira was the most pleasant, unselfish, and positive professor and then a friend. He did not care for all the unworthy issues the rest of us were occupied with. May he rest in peace. 

Prof. Kira was a ready reckoner of our department - able to discuss any topic be it Technology, academics, or departmental affairs.  A very helpful person. We will always remember you and we will miss you during every tea break.

My sincerest condolences. I have know Dennis for 23 years and we were very close. Dennis sets a very high standard as a human for all of us to follow. His kindness, wisdom, sense of calm and collectedness, generosity, loving energy, understanding, compassion, sense of humour, and intellect are inspirational to anyone who knew him. Dennis has helped so many people in his life in so many ways that  very few even know about the extent. Dennis was my buddy. We would go to conferences and do research every year. The photo is in Vietnam. I am happy that his Karma is in good standing. I am sad to miss him from our lives. He was Buddha nature. His memories will be cherished and presence missed. Raafat.

My association with Dearest Dennis started in 1986. Since then we have lived together, travelled together to so many places like Hongkong, Vietnam, Singapore, California, Florida, Jerusalem, and many other places. When we were roommate for a year Dennis liked my Indian cooking which I did more often in the evening. In the department he was known as my son. It is the second big shock of my life after I lost family.  Although I am not very religious but I do believe in GOD.  Me and Dennis discussed religion many times but always agreed that God does not recognize any religion and rituality. God sits in you heart and he is happy when you serve mankind honestly and peacefully. I am so sad that man who was ready to give everything to others finally became a victim of politics. He will be always in my heart and in my prayers everyday. I can write whole book on Dennis. GOD BLESS HIS SOUL WITH PEACE.  AUM SHANTI SHANTI. AMEN.
