I am saddened to hear of the passing of Emile.  He will be remembered as a true gentleman.

I had dealt on many occasions with Emile over the years he was at Dawson. . A great dedicated and patient  teacher always there for his students and fellow colleagues.  May you rest in peace Emile
 
 

It was a pleasure to know and chat with Emil, a true gentleman and intellectual. May God bless him, his family, and his friends.

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Emile Hajjar for whom I have only found memories as an honest, gentle, dedicated and charming work colleague and friend.  For many years, I had the pleasure of sharing an office with him, and we often enjoyed a warm cup of coffee as we exchanged ideas and thoughts (as well as troubles).  I heard much about his love of travel and his great passion for sailing and skiing. I hope he enjoyed his well-deserved retirement and that he rests in peace up above the heavens. My sincere condolences to his family and especially his daughter for which he spoke of dearly with infinite love.  Good-bye my friend.

Emile was a friend, a colleague and a real "mensh".

A dedication to the life of Émile Hajjar:

I had the unique privilege of getting to know this friend and colleague at Dawson College back in 1993. It was then that I taught Émile and other teachers everything they needed to know about Accpac Plus.  I respected this scholar and gentleman then and even more so now. Although he has passed, he will always be remembered in my heart as the person to go to when you needed advice on any topic. He was there for us fellow colleagues and even more so for his students.

Thank you Émile ... you will never be forgotten.

For those of us who knew him for any part of the 37+ years he taught at Dawson, or worked in the department during the years when he presided as Chair, one will recall what a kind, principled, and dedicated fellow he was.

Blessed with an even disposition and infinite patience, a short visit to Emile's office would often lead to a prolonged conversation, during which he would demonstrate a vast knowledge of disparate topics...a renaissance man in the truest sense.

Inevitably, talk would veer toward his passion of sailing or his love of travelling. No matter the topic: he loved exchanging with people.

Having had the privilege of sharing an office with him for over a decade, I observed first-hand his devotion to students, who were always welcomed, never rushed, and treated with the same high level of respect he profferred to anyone fortunate to cross his path. Indeed, respect to others was his personal hallmark.

Rest in peace, dear friend.
