Giuseppe Palumbo

Palumbo, Giuseppe, 81, of Montreal, Canada, beloved husband of Anna (Chianetta) Palumbo, died peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Verdun Manoir. He was born on September 30, 1931, in Favara, Sicily, Italy the son of the late Giuseppe and Angela (Varisano) Palumbo. At 16 he left home and worked in construction for 8 years in France then Germany helping in the rebuilding after WW II. After that time, he moved to Toronto, Ontario and continued working in construction. Giuseppe settled in Montreal. First, he worked as Construction Foreman in building Place Bonaventure and Place Ville Marie then he commenced working for Stelco providing 27 years of service.

A kind, caring, and devoted husband, father, grandfather (Nonno), he will be greatly missed. Along with his wife married for 53 years, Anna. He leaves two daughters and one son, Angela Palumbo and her two children, Nicolas and Sophie Roy, of Montreal, Rosaria Palumbo of Longueil and Giuseppe Palumbo and his wife, Marta Urillo, of Southington, CT and their three children, Isabelle, Gianfranco, and Anthony Palumbo. He is predeceased by his brother, Carmelo Palumbo of France. He leaves his half sister Anna Biamonte, and half brother Salvatore Biamonte, both of Favara, Italy.

Funeral services are January 15, 2013 at 9:00 AM, at the Centre Funeraire, Cote Des Neige, in Montreal which also has care of the arrangements. Mass to be held at 10:00 AM. Palumbo, Giuseppe, 81 ans, de Montréal, Canada, époux d'Anna (Chianetta) Palumbo, est décédé paisiblement le vendredi 11 Janvier 2013, au Manoir de Verdun. Il est né le 30 Septembre 1931, à Favara, Sicile, l'Italie, le fils de feu Joseph et Angela (Varisano) Palumbo.

À 16 ans, il a quitté la maison et a travaillé dans la construction pour 8 ans en France puis en Allemagne aide à la reconstruction après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Après cette période, il a déménagé à Toronto, en Ontario et a continué à travailler dans la construction. Giuseppe s'installe à Montréal. Tout d'abord, il a travaillé comme contremaître de construction à la Place Bonaventure et de la Place Ville-Marie, puis il a commencé à travailler pour Stelco pour 27 ans de service.

Il etait un mari, père, grand-père (Nonno) attentionné et dévoue. Il va beaucoup nous manquer. Avec son épouse Anna, de plus de 53 ans de mariage, il laisse deux filles et un fils, Angela Palumbo et ses deux enfants, Nicholas et Sophie Roy, de Montréal, Rosaria Palumbo de Longueil et Giuseppe Palumbo et son épouse, Marta Urillo, de Southington , CT et leurs trois enfants, Isabelle, Gianfranco, et Anthony Palumbo. Il est précédé dans la tombe par son frère, Carmelo Palumbo de France. Il laisse sa demi-sœur Anna Biamonte, et demi-frère Salvatore Biamonte, de Favara, Italie.

Les services funéraires auron lieu le 15 Janvier 2013 à 09h00, au Centre Funeraire, Cote Des Neige, à Montréal, qui a également en charge les arrangements. Messe qui se tiendra à 10h00. L'inhumation se fera au cimetière Côte-des-Neige à 11:15.
