Henry Milczewski, beloved husband for 71 years of Mary Kovach Milczewski, died at the Montreal General Hospital on February 7 from the infirmities of old age. Henry will be greatly missed by many close friends in Montreal and the Eastern Townships.
Henry was born in Poland on August 13, 1931 and survived deportation to Siberia at the start of World War II with his mother and sister. They eventually made their way through the Middle East and ended up in England after the War.
They came to Montreal in 1951 where Henry worked 43 years at Canadair/Bombardier, starting as a tool maker and ending up as a senior specialist in machined parts methods.
Henry loved the cottage he built in the Townships, where he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He and Mary hosted many parties and BBQs. Henry was the LIFE of the party! They always enjoyed having friends stay over.
Henry had a very strong personality and a loud voice…….until the end! He was extremely handy with all types of tools, a man of all trades, and always willing to help friends.
The family thanks the doctors and staff at the Montreal General Hospital who cared compassionately for Henry during the last three weeks of his life. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Montreal General Hospital Fund.
The funeral will take place on Saturday February 28, 2026 at 11AM at the Centre funeraire Cote-des-Neiges, 4525 Cotes-des-Neiges, Montreal. Later this year, there will be a private family burial at Notre Dáme des Neiges Cemetery.
