John was a "larger-than-life" figure, loved by all and known for his genuine warmth and infectious belly laughs. He had a rare charm; even a single meeting left a lifelong impression, and he naturally became a father figure to many throughout his life.
Whether he was cooking a meal, cheering on a NASCAR race, crafting beautiful knives, or enjoying the quiet solitude of fishing, John embraced life fully. Yet, nothing compared to the unconditional love he held for his family.
John was the beloved husband of Frances Toyota and a devoted father to Megan and Cherie. He leaves behind a legacy of love with his mother, Lynda Berry; his brothers, Bill (Louise), Brian (Maria), and Russell (Flo); his sister, Yvonne Jackson (Ron); and his brothers-in-law, Jack (Lynda) and Tony (Natalia). He was a uniquely cherished uncle to his many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart and a loyal friend to many. John will be deeply missed by his extended family, dear friends, and everyone whose life he touched. He joins in rest his late father, Reg, and grandparents, Gladys and Percy Berry.
In a beautiful piece of cosmic timing, John passed away during the solar eclipse phase. Spiritually representing a time of profound transition and rebirth, this rare celestial alignment marks a sacred portal of deep rest. It brings comfort to know that his soul began its next journey in harmony with the greater universal rhythm.
John’s vibrant spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone he touched. Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
