It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of June on Saturday, January 8, 2022 in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. We gain comfort knowing that June is now reunited with her late husband, Edward (Big Ed). Left to cherish her memory and mourn her are Linda, Kenny (Gina), Kevin (Louise), Pamela and Pearl.
She will be greatly missed by the Callender, Squires, Walker and Villacorta families, her long-time neighbours (60 years) at Benny Farm, her in-laws and "out-laws" and as well as other family members and friends.
June experienced multiple health setbacks in recent years which she faced with ferocity and determination and she consistently overcame massive obstacles for decades unbeknownst to many who knew her. Words cannot express how much she will be missed. We will cherish her laugh/snort, sense of humour and enthusiasm for life. Her passion was her children and she was a true mama bear until the day she died.
The family wishes to sincerely thank staff at the Jewish General, Mount Sinai, Julius Richardson and Catherine Booth Hospitals as well as Saint Andrew Residential Centre for the care and kindness they provided over the years.
Donations to Heart and Stroke or Kidney Foundations of Canada or any charity of your choosing are appreciated. You may wish to honour June's memory with a simple act of kindness to another person.
A memorial service to be announced later in the year (Covid permitting).
