Kelley Andrea passed away peacefully on April 13th 2020 at the Royal Victoria Hospital, in Montreal, Quebec. Kelley spent her last hours in the arms of her sons; Derek and Spencer Harvey, after a courageous battle with cancer. She applied her competitive spirit in battling her illness over the past year, surprising doctors and nurses with her determination and knowledge of her illness.
Kelley Andrea was born on February 6th 1968 in Channel, Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland. She was the dear daughter of Derek P. and Leah (Baggs) Harvey.
Kelley Andrea studied linguistics at the University of New Brunswick and attended McGill University’s Faculty of Law from which she graduated in 1993. As a linguist and member of the Quebec Bar, she has worked as a jurilinguist in the Treaty Law Division for Global Affairs Canada with the Federal Government for the past decade. She previously worked as a translator and revisor for the Translation Bureau with the Federal Courts Unit.
Throughout her life, Kelley Andrea was the ultimate mom to her sons Derek and Spencer. She supported them relentlessly as a single mom, through their numerous athletic and academic activities. She loved the outdoors and had a passion for camping and horseback riding. She was gifted academically and fiercely independent, going above and beyond to complete any task she set her mind to. She will be remembered for her sparkling sense of humor, Irish wit and boundless energy.
Leaving to mourn are her two loving sons Derek and Spencer, her parents Derek P. and Leah (Baggs) Harvey, brother Paul Harvey and sister Jacquie (Mark) Fullerton, together with their children Benjamin, Zoe and James who were very special to her. She also had close relationships with her large circle of dear aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
When the current COVID-19 restrictions subside, a memorial service will be held at a date to be determined.
