Born on September 3, 1943, in Magog, Quebec, Marguerite was the beloved daughter of Hamilton Nelson and Ninette Guilbeault. She pursued a career in nursing, graduating from the Montreal General Hospital in March of 1967, and dedicated nearly 40 years to service in healthcare. She worked at the Montreal General Hospital, Catherine Booth Hospital in NDG, and the Douglas Hospital in Verdun, before retiring in 2007.
In 1971, she married Bruce Alexander Trussler, with whom she built a life filled with love and devotion. Together, they raised two sons, Robert (born 1974) and Michael (born 1976), both of whom remained very close during her life.
Marguerite was a woman of strong mind and great warmth. She loved to read, had a passion for antiques, cherished her lifelong friendships, and was a ray of light to everyone around her. Her extended family in Medellín, Colombia, held a special place in her heart, and she traveled there every year to spend three months at Christmas with her son Michael, his wife Catalina, and her beloved grandchildren. She also shared a lifelong connection to her son Robert, with whom she remained quite close throughout her life.
She is survived by her sons Robert and Michael, and her cherished grandchildren Michael Emiliano, Simon, and Allegra. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Trussler.
