Monique (Laurencelle) Lane

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Monique Lane (née Laurencelle) on July 12, 2025, at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving family.

Monique leaves behind her devoted husband of fifty years, Donald Lane, her cherished daughters Melanie Lane (Jason) and Julie Lane (Nathalie), and her beloved grandsons Luca and Ryan. She will also be deeply missed by many close friends and neighbors.

She was predeceased by her father Jules Laurencelle, her mother Mélanie Demeter, and her sister Louise Laurencelle.

Monique will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit, her joyful love of happy face stickers, the deep affection she held for her family, and her radiant smile that brightened every room.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Nicole Ezer, Dr. Geneviève Chaput, and the entire team in the Palliative Care Unit at Lachine Hospital for their compassionate and exceptional care.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 24, at the Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, located at 4525 Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montréal, QC H3V 1E7. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a short service.
