Predeceased by her brother, John, she will be missed by her niece Wendy Eaton and her family, as well as her cousin David Francis and friends and associates in the art community.
Nancy Petry was a painter, photographer, filmmaker, and conceptual artist. She was among the early artists to explore the realm of abstract art in Québec and Canada. Her artistic career has taken her across continents.
In 2015 she founded the Nancy Petry Foundation to administer the Petry Award supporting travel and study abroad to an outstanding emerging Canadian artist in the field of painting. Due to her failing health Nancy Petry resided at the Centre d’hébergement Alfred-Des-Rochers. It is with profound gratitude we thank Dr. Beatrice Gagnon for the excellent care given and for the compassion shown by the nurses and caregivers.
