It is with great sadness the family of Piers Ebsworth announces his peaceful passing at home, November 10, 2025, at the age of 95. He was predeceased by his wife, Beri, in 2020 and is survived by his sons Nicholas (Michèle), Christopher (Kim) Anthony (Carlene) and daughter Angela (Lynn) and all his grandchildren and great grandchildren, a legacy of which he was so proud. Additionally, he is survived by his extended family of nieces, nephew and cousins in Europe and Canada of whom he was extremely fond
Piers travelled extensively through his work, allowing him to see most countries around the world. This also permitted him to indulge in his hobby as an amateur historian. He kept meticulous journals of his travels and frequently communicated his stories with family, friends, and colleagues. Piers was a Life Member of the Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM) and in 2019, was awarded a prestigious Fellowship for his outstanding contribution to the CIM and the mining industry. He was also an avid tennis and table tennis player, well into his late 80s
Join us in Piers’ celebration of a life well lived at The Church of St. John the Baptist, 33 Ave Sainte-Claire, Pointe-Claire on November 22, 2025. Visitation and reception will be held at 1:00pm, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00pm, and internment at 3:00pm, at the “Lakeview Memorial Gardens” 701 Ave Donegani, Pointe-Claire.
The Ebsworth family would like to thank all the staff at the Veterans’ Hospital in Ste. Anne-de-Bellevue and the local CLSC for the exceptional care they provided in the last few months, and especially his neighbours in Pte-Claire and Maine for their watchful eye and kind support.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the “Veterans’ Hospital” Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated
