Rachel was born in Bandra, Bombay India on January 13, 1931 to Alex Pinto and Mary D’Souza.
Rachel is preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Mary; husband, Norman Chatelier, and beloved brother, Peter. She is survived by her sisters, Marina and Faustine; and four children, Marguerite, Angelique, Norman and Alex.
Rachel spent her childhood in Bombay, before boldly immigrating to Montreal, Quebec to build a better life for her family. Although she never learned French, Rachel raised her four children and spent the rest of her life in Montreal except for a few trips that she cherished back home. Rachel loved reading and had a green thumb; her home was full of greenery.
The family will be receiving friends at the Centre Funéraire Côte-Des-Neiges on the February 8, 2020.
