1949 – 2026
It is with profound sadness that the family of Roger McGraw announces his passing at home on September 26th.
Roger was the devoted and loving husband of Janice McGraw, nee Bedard, for 54 years, cherished father of Patrick (Anna) and Kristen (Kristopher) and loving grandfather of Elodie and Mavis. He leaves behind his two siblings, Cathy (Bertram) and Robert, his nephew Mathew, his two brothers-in-law, Lorne (Venita) and Rollie (Josette). He will be deeply missed by his loving family, close friends and extended family. His children, and grandchildren certainly gave him true purpose and joy over the years as did the meaningful relationships he cultivated with family and friends throughout his life.
He had an appetite for life that withstood the many health challenges he faced early on. He never let anything interfere with parenting whether it was coaching little league baseball, attending soccer and hockey games, and family skiing in Morin Heights.
His career path started in the financial industry, but where he gravitated to was the food industry where he would help develop and promote products at foods exhibitions that included travel within North America, including China and Tokyo. This was the highlight of his career as he had a particular interest in food and being introduced to other cultures and people.
Roger had a remarkable intellect, a generous spirit and a deep sense of compassion. He was outspoken, but a great listener, extremely loyal and generous. His sense of humour would draw crowds and loud laughter while music appreciation provided solitude and comfort as did gardening.
A sincere thanks to the Cote St. Luc CLSC, his nurse Evelyne, and her dedicated team who helped ease his recent challenges. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jewish General Hospital Cardiac Unit would be appreciated.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at the Collins Clarke MacGillivrary White Funeral Home, 5610 Sherbrooke St. West on Saturday, October 10th, Visitation will be 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Celebration of Life 12-1 p.m.
