It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving mother, Sheila Sheeran.
Born in Montreal to Patrick Sheeran and Catherine Joyce, she leaves behind her devoted husband Maxwell (Max) Callaghan, her loving children, Janice Bedard McGraw (Roger) and Lorne Bedard (Venita) from a previous marriage. Her grandchildren, Patrick (Anna), and Kristen (Kristopher) and great-grandchildren, Elodie, Mavis, gave her such pride, joy and comfort during her lifetime.
Sheila was predeceased by her seven siblings and having raised her children as a single mother; she relied on and always appreciated the role of the extended family. She was closest to her nephew, Peter, nieces, Penny and Diana, sometimes a second mother to them as their mother, Veronica, was to Lorne and Janice.
As we sit back and contemplate her life, we will always remember her joie de vivre, how she drew people in with her comforting presence, her tender smile and laughter. Although life was challenging, she chose to focus on the positive ensuring the family, including our extended family remained together in love, acceptance and loyalty.
Upon marrying Max in 1990, Sheila was thrilled to broaden the extended family to Prince Edward Island where Max originated. She enjoyed a loving marriage with Max, and is missed by him, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews including the extended family Sheila brought together in such style and joy.
At this time, the family wishes to express our thanks to the caregivers at the former Les Residence Floralies Lachine for their tender care prior to its closing and those of the West Island Manor during her final days. Her last years, though difficult were faced with her usual grace and charm.
The family will receive condolences on August 16, 2023 between 10:00 a.m. and noon, followed by a funeral service at 12:15 p.m., and a short reception at Centre Funeraire Cote des Neiges, 4525 Ch de la Cote des Neiges, Montreal, Qc H3V 1E7
