It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Queen Mother, Thelma Claudine Franklin Hewitt, on September 4, 2026, at the age of 94, with her family by her side.
Predeceased by her husband Edward Hewitt, mother Viola Franklin, sister's Elaine and Imogene , brother Hubert and sister-in-law Erla Sandiford Thelma is survived by her brother, Courtney(Avril), and her children Michael (Susan), Randolph (Tracy),Angela, Sonia, (Jamal)Cheryl, and Susane(Stephen).
She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Iyatah, Jahtawi, Ife-Toya, Imega, Izalika, Amda, Jahson, Elijah, Jomo, Akeem, Nneka, Aqiyl, Kwame, Tara, and Randi Lee.
She is now reunited with her beloved grandson, Isaiah.
She was also a loving great-grandmother to Tyliq, Joriah, Zaelon, Laylah, Aryah, Olivia, Isaac, Effie, and Xanelle.
She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews along with countless extended family members, friends, and loved ones.
Thelma was a strong, independent woman who lived life on her own terms and enjoyed it to the fullest. She was known for the joy she brought to others through her generosity, kindness, and, most of all, her love for family, friends, and even strangers.
She was a true entertainer, gifted with singing, dancing, modelling, and acting. Her vibrant spirit and unforgettable personality brought life and laughter wherever she went.
She was, and always will be, greatly loved. Her presence touched many lives, and she will be forever missed.
Rest in perfect peace, Mom, G-ma, Grandma,Granny, Auntie, and a good and treasured friend to so many.
Your love, your spirit, and your memory will live on forever. The family will receive condolences at Centre Funéraires Côte-des-Neiges, 4525 Chem. de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montréal, on September 28, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The funeral will be held on September 29 Condolences from 10:00 to 11:00 am, and service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Anglican Church, 520 75th Avenue, LaSalle,QC, H8R2P5, followed by the burial at Notre-Dame-des- Neiges Cemetery.
