Dear Karl, Patrick, Danny and your families.

Doug and I were deeply saddened to hear that Bill had passed away.  We didn't see them often but when we did, it was great fun!!
We got together as often as we could to celebrate our wedding anniversaries as our dates were one day apart and one year apart.  Although I am sad, I know he is happy To be reunited with Gigi.  Take care with each other and always remember that they loved you very much.

Uncle Bill and Aunt Ghyslaine were names that we never used.  They just wanted to be known to Bill and Ghyslaine to his sister Evelyn’s children.  Bill was my mother’s only sibling and she, along with the rest of the family very much loved all the Baker family.  

I recall visiting the Baker family in the early 90’s to attend our grandmother’s funeral.  My parents, Evelyn and Alec were at the Gulf Shores at the time unable to attend the service.  My brother Donald, Andrew and I drove to Montreal to attend the funeral.  Bill and Ghyslaine were very generous and opened their home for us to stay.  We had a really great time and spent hours talking, laughing and visiting which each other.  

I will miss Bill and Ghyslaine. I consider myself very lucky for the happy memories they made in my life.

I first met Bill and Gigi at Patrick's wedding to my daughter, Mora, in 2010. I found Bill to be a sincere, quiet-natured man, but enjoyable company.  Over the years I would see Bill and Gigi at family gatherings in Ottawa and would very much enjoy conversations with both. And I looked forward to the gatherings with the Baker family.

To Karl, Patrick and Daniel; may the memories of your good times with your father help you through this difficult time.

Je suis peinée d'apprendre le départ de votre papa M. Baker, "Bill " . Je connaissais bien "Gigi", car j'ai travaillé longtemps avec cette belle personne et ce dans toute sa globalité.  Mais voilà,  il a maintenant rejoint sa douce et bien aimée. J'ai eu la chance de rencontrer M. Baker et vraiment je fus toujours impressionnée par sa gentillesse et sa grandeur d'âme.  De tout coeur, je vous transmets mes pensées de courage et de résilience.  Les souvenirs et l'amour que vous lui portez vont  toujours demeurer.

Karl, Patrick, Daniel and family,

I was heartbroken to hear about Bill's passing. Bill was my uncle but, as he was not much older, we always just called him Bill. He was one of the kindest people I have ever met. He seemed to always be happy, always thinking of others.  I have so many memories: he and Grandma Baker meeting me at Central Station in Montreal when I travelled between Fredericton and Kingston on my way to and from university; Grandma and I visiting Bill in (I believe) Winnipeg when he had a summer job out there and was living in a VERY sparse bedsit; your mother helping him study in Grandma's flat in Montreal.  However, the memory that always stands out is the love he had for his family. His love and kindness toward his mother, your Grandmother, Evelyn, dropping in to her flat several times a week.  His adoration for your mother, "Gigi", the love of his life and his love for and pride in you, his sons, and your families.  I remember visiting your parents when you were very young.  Your Mother and I were watching Bill in the backyard with "his boys".  Your Mother was laughing and shaking her head saying "He spends everything we have on his boys, we have no savings!" She loved every minute of it.

Bill had a wonderful life made full with his family, my love and thoughts are with you.
