Alice Rose "Babe" Finch of Springvale, formerly of Peekskill, Buchanan & Verplanck, passed away at home after a short illness on Nov 5, 2017. She was 88. Alice was the daughter of Stephen P. & Alice V. (Springstead) Nohai born in Peekskill on Nov 6, 1928 & raised in Verplanck. On June 30, 1946 she married Glenn E. Finch at the Church of the Assumption in Peekskill.
Alice last worked in the cafeteria of Hendrick Hudson HS, which she truly loved & where she was known as the "Cookie Lady". Although she had been employed in a few other companies, she spent most of her years at home raising their 8 children.
She was predeceased by her husband Glenn, a retired Peekskill Police Lieutenant on May 28, 2000. In addition to her husband & parents Alice was pre-deceased by her daughter Theresa Finch, son Jonathan Finch, grandson Michael Bell, her brothers Donald V. & Stephen "Chippy" P. Nohai Jr., sister Frances L. Nelson and sadly the family recently lost beloved grandson Matthew Finch.
In spite of her losses & sad times, Mom was always loving & lots of fun. She had a great sense of humor even when she was the recipient of the joke. She is sorely missed by all of us including her circle of friends whom she spent lots of time with at the Steamboat Dock, her favorite place on earth! May you rest in peace Mommy.
