Francis (Frank) Patrick Curran Jr. died on 8/22/2021. He was born to Anna and Francis Curran in April 18, 1932. He was a lifelong resident of Verplank and an advocate for its people and friends, collectively known as Pointers. Upon graduating from Hendrick Hudson High School, he joined the Navy and served honorably during the Korean war on the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany. Many thanks to the care givers at the NY State Veterans Home in Montrose. The care he received there is unparalleled.
He was a 70 year member of the IBEW Local 3/501 Electrical Workers Union. He began his career in 1951 at the age of 19 as an entry level apprentice and rose through the ranks to eventually become General Foreman at the Indian Point Nuclear Power Station in Buchanan, NY. He loved the trade and advocated and recruited on its behalf both within the Union as well as in the public arena. He also enjoyed the training and passing on his many skills to others that worked for him over the years. Many thanks to the IBEW who stood by him during his later years.
His personal care givers, Judy and Joann, can not be thanked enough. He was truly blessed to have them.
He is predeceased by his sisters Barbara and Janice Curran. He is survived by his sons Frank (Lesley) and Douglas Curran, grandchildren Destiny and Franky Curran and many cousins.
